COVID-19 an Impact on Environmental Health - Techzfacty

The COVID-19 Pandemic has rapidly spread across the world, the countries which are affected are just going on Lockdown to check further spread India is among those countries around 130 crore people are being urged by the government to spread home and avoid unnecessary travels. This has significantly reduced. The traffic movement across the country. Over 90 cities including Delhi, Mumbai,  Pune recorded minimum Air pollution in the last few days. 
Environmentalists have welcomed the reduction in pollution and have urged the government to treat it as a wakeup call and stop development at the cost of the environment.


*  The risk of Respiratory problem (diseases) are mainly associated due to Nitrogen oxide (NO2) released from the automobile exhaust. (Asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, Heart problem). 
But, Now due to COVID-19 lockdown the level of Nitrogen oxide has dropped by 43% in Pune, 38% in Mumbai & 50% in Ahmedabad. 
The Particulate Matter (PM) is a complex mixture a small particle and liquid droplets. 
According to the system of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting and Research it has dropped in PM 2.5.
By 30% in Delhi, 15% in Ahmedabad , & 15% in Pune.
Air Quality Index (AQI) is good as now it is the most healthiest air to breathe. In Kanpur which has high pollution level has also dropped and is in the good category. The Low Air Quality Index and blue sky have proved that a lot of polluted air was man-made. 

AQI is calculated for 8 major Air Polluted.

*  PM2.5.
*  PM10
*  Ground-level ozone
*  Carbon Monoxide
*  Sulphur dioxide
*  Nitrogen dioxide
*  Ammonia
*   Lead
Earlier there was a big hole in the ozone layer due to Air pollution, but today it has been repaired, & the environment healed herself.

This Lockdown has also created a very good impact on Rivers too (incl.  Ganga, Yamuna,.....)
Earlier, the government and various communities had contributed a lot to improve the water pollution & spent millions of rupees to clean the river, but there was no much difference.
But now, during this Lockdown Period there is a drastic change in River condition.
The Environment is Healing. 


*    Dramatic Shift

 According to AQA Air Visual 2019 world air quality reports that 30 most polluted cities are characterized in the good category.  
According to Air Quality Report India was 5th most polluted country in 2019 and accounts for almost two-thirds of the world most polluted cities.


*    POSITIVE ASSOCIATES

i. Better Visibility:-  The Air has become so clean that Himalayan Peaks are now visible from Jalandhar in Punjab, situated 140 km away.
ii.  Clean and fresh air
iii. Better Health:-  Decreased risk of Heart stroke, Lung disease, asthma.
iv. More numbers to stars are visible in the naked sky.
